Hey 👋
Welcome to the monthly round-up for KeepTheScore. You may not know this but KeepTheScore is a one-man show. It's one guy (me) doing the coding, the support, the design -- and writing this newsletter.
Here's what I got done in July:
Added team logos for live sports scoreboards
Our sports scoreboards have been getting a lot of attention recently: attention from users and attention from me.
After enabling custom colors for each team last month, it is now possible to set a logo per team too.
Remember, this scoreboard type can easily be integrated into a live stream.
✋ Restricted access
Up till now, each scoreboard or leaderboard had 2 levels of "access":
- You either had admin access which means you could change everything, including resetting the board and deleting players. Or
- You had read access, which means you couldn't change anything.
However, what people often asked for is something inbetween: the ability to add scores without being able to change or edit the board otherwise. This feature is now complete! Read more about it here.
Assorted stuff
Other interesting things worth mentioning:
- I wrote a blog post explaining why I used the Python language to create Keepthescore.
- I've been working on a great client project these past few months. It allows you to putt (as in golf ⛳) ️against your friends via video call, whilst keeping track of some basic stats. Check it out here: Pressureputts.com.
That's all folks
Let me know your thoughts on the above or anything else... just reply to this mail.
So long for now,
Caspar
