Choosing the right tool
There are of course already a large number of apps and websites that allow you to manage and play online fantasy sports. But maybe you don't want to use one of these tools because:
- They are too complex
- They are too expensive
- They don't have the right features
- They are over-sized
- You have a data privacy concerns
For this guide, we'll be using Keepthescore.com, a versatile and user-friendly tool that lets you create and share leaderboards for virtually any purpose. It's perfect for tracking your fantasy sports rankings and is easy to get started with. You'll be able to generate a leaderboard that's accessible as a standalone webpage, shareable with anyone you'd like to include in the fun.
However, there is no integration of any sports data nor are there any automations for calculating scores based on some formula. If you want to calculate points, use the Excel-based option (see below).
Setting Up Your Fantasy Sports Leaderboard
You have 2 options for creating a leaderboard
1. Use an existing Excel file
If you already have your data in an Excel file, then this is the easiest route to take. You can do all the calculations in Excel and then simply upload the resulting file. To update your leaderboard, you update the Excel file and then upload again. Choose this option if you want to have a real league table.
To get started, click the button below:
After you have created your league table, customize it further by selecting a theme that fits your fantasy sport through the "SETTINGS" option. You can read more about what you can customize in the customization guide.
2. Create a basic leaderboard
Choose this option if you don't want to use Excel. However, this will only allow to have one score per team or player.
- First, click on the above 👆 button and enter some basic data about your leaderboard.
- Input your league's details, including the names of teams or players, and if you like, add team logos or emojis for a personalized touch.
- Once you click "CREATE LEADERBOARD," your leaderboard will be live.
You can easily update standings and scores directly on the platform.
