Hey 👋
Welcome to the monthly round-up for Keepthescore.com. You may not know this but Keepthescore.com is a one-man show. It's one guy (me) doing the coding, the support, the design -- and writing this newsletter.
Here's what I got done in June:
Improvements for sports scoreboards
Our sports scoreboards got an overhaul. As a reminder: they are a type of digital scoreboard for 2 teams that are well suited for displaying on a big screen during live events.
I added the option to set foreground and background colors per team. I also made the scoreboard display more responsive which means it looks better on a variety of screen sizes.
The next step will be allowing logo uploads per team (coming next month!). To create your own sports scoreboard, start here.
In case you've forgotten, this scoreboard type can easily be integrated into a live stream.
Coming Soon: Restricted Access
At the moment, each scoreboard or leaderboard has 2 levels of "access":
- You either have admin access which means you can change everything, including resetting the board and deleting players. Or
- You have just read access, which means you can't change anything.
However, what people often ask for is something inbetween: the ability to add scores without being able to change or edit the board otherwise. This feature is almost complete and will be released soon. Hopefully you'll be able to read about it next time.
Assorted stuff
Other interesting stuff worth mentioning:
- The Royal Airforce is using our leaderboards
- I've been working on a client project and teasered a big reveal last time, but it's still not ready yet. Stay tuned.
That's all folks
Let me know your thoughts on the above or anything else... just reply to this mail.
So long for now,
